Boat Hire FAQs

Our boats are open from mid March to the end of October half term.

The last boat is around 3:30pm – 4:00pm. However, it does vary so if you are coming later in the afternoon please phone us for the time of the last boat. It also varies depending on the river levels. If the river is too high or fast then the boating will be closed. So it is always best to call.

There is no unaccompanied persons under the age of 16 years. If you are under 16 years old then you must be accompanied by an adult.

No alcohol is permitted on the boats. No persons under the influence of alcohol are allowed on the boats.

You are welcome to take your dog out on a boat, however it is at your own risk.

If the weather is really bad then boating may not be available. Please be aware though that on a day to day basis this will depend on what the weather has been up to and if there is an impact on river levels, after a lot of rain the river can be too high and fast to allow us to operate safely. So please call us to make sure especially if you are travelling long distances.

You can book 48 hours in advance on the online booking page. You cannot book same day but we have plenty of boats so you can usually get straight on – just bear in mind sunshine plus weekends or school holidays we get very busy so there could be a queue. Boating is always quieter before noon so come early!

Unfortunately, you are unable to hire a boat by yourself. There is a minimum of 2 people per boat.

Life jackets are available upon request. All children and non-swimmers are advised to wear a life-jacket.

Your alotted time on the boats is 1 hour. If you are longer than 1 hour we have the right to charge you for the time you have been out on the river.
